Maine Ski mountains prepare to open while skiers swap gear
By Carl Natale
Yes, it’s ski season in Maine. At least at Sunday River. After opening trails for the Nor’easter and Halloween last weekend, they plan to reopen ski trails Saturday and Sunday. Other ski mountains are planning to open:
- Sugarloaf: Nov. 18
- Mt. Abram Ski Resort: Dec. 10
- Big Rock Ski Resort: Dec. 10
- Lost Valley: Dec. 16
- Camden Snow Bowl: Dec. 17
- Saddleback Ski Area: Dec. 17
All work and play
Shawnee Peak has a job fair 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday for a few positions it has available. And while other mountains aren’t planning job fairs, it does have employment opportunities on and off the mountains:
- The Camden Snow Bowl (volunteer positions)
- Hermon Mountain (Job fair 6 p.m. Nov. 22)
- Saddleback
- Sugarloaf
- Sunday River
