There are many things for you to do in the Kennebec Valley and Moose River region and we are located in the heart of it all. Enjoy hiking our private trails or the many local trails. Go fishing in the great Kennebec or Sebasticook Rivers or many of the local lakes and ponds which are regularly stocked by the Dept of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. These same waters are great places to enjoy canoeing and kayaking and taking in the wildlife. Check out our Activities page for more info.

We also offer guide services for hunting trips for whitetail deer, turkeys, grouse, woodcock, and waterfowl. Our upland hunting preserve gives us opportunities for pheasants 7 days a week starting in August. For information on hunting season and license fees go to the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife website. You can also buy your license online.

Here at Silverton we are dog people and your dog is welcome in your cabin at no extra charge. Your dog will enjoy a walk on our trails or swim in our ponds.

THE BEAR- bedroom one has a full size bed and bedroom two has two twin beds. The living area has a full size sofa. There is also a dinette table, small frig, microwave, and coffeemaker and TV with DVD player. There’s a full bath and all linens are included.

THE RIVER- one bedroom with a full size bed. The living area has a futon with a good mattress. There is also a dinette table, small frig, microwave, and coffeemaker and TV with DVD player. There’s a full bath and all linens are included.

THE PINES- one bedroom has a full size bed and the other has a bunk bed with full size on bottom and twin on top. The living area has a full size sofa. There is also a dinette table, small frig, microwave, and coffeemaker and TV with DVD player. There’s a full bath and all linens are included.

We offer Clay Shooting lessons and instruction!!

We have found that clay target shooting is a very addictive sport that anyone can do. It’s a great outing for families, friends (think bachelor party) or corporate event for employees or clients.

So what is clay target shooting all about? Most folks are familiar with the terms skeet shooting and trap shooting. These are classic clay target fields. In trap all of the targets are going away from you from a single trap. You rotate through 5 shooting “spots” or stations. Skeet has a high house and a low house from opposite sides of a half circle. You rotate between 8 stations. with most shots being crossers or going away.

With 5 stand and sporting clays anything goes. Targets can be going away, incomers, crossers, from towers over your head, rabbits bouncing across the ground- anything goes because the targets are meant to simulate hunting shots. On the sporting clays course you walk from station to station through fields and the woods. 5 stand is the same but on a smaller field with 5 stations.

Sporting clays is known as “the most fun you can have with a shotgun” and I couldn’t agree more.

Clay target events are increasing all over the country with women being the fastest growth sector. Women are finding the sport to be very empowering and confidence building. We start with basic gun safety, then move onto the 5 stand field where your first shot is at a stationary target on the ground then a straight forward going away target. Our methods have taught many new shooters to hit targets the first time out.
