Some have screened porches, whirlpool tubs and a view of the Kennebec River. The Forks and Inn By The River are home to the best Maine whitewater rafting and hundreds of miles of groomed Maine ITS snowmobile trails for your enjoyment. From our front door it is commonplace to see deer and moose, or eagles flying overhead. Beyond the Inn gardens, there are many hiking, mountain-biking, and snowmobile trails for you to explore. Maine’s best rivers and lakes are at hand for fly fishing, ice fishing, boating, whitewater rafting, canoeing, and kayaking or just to sit beside and read a book. Our front porch is a place of rest where people relax and commune while watching the river flow by.

The Riverside Restaurant and Pub at Inn By The River are a fun, comfortable place to relax in any season. We work hard to provide delicious homemade food both unique and common, accompanied by the most friendly personal service available anywhere. Directions: Drive up I-95 North past Augusta and Waterville. Take Exit 133 (old exit 36) for “Fairfield, Showhegan, Province of Quebec.” Turn right at bottom of exit ramp onto Route 201 North. Continue for 60 miles through the towns of Skowhegan, Solon, Bingham, Moscow, and Caratunk. Look for our large blue sign “Inn by the River” on right side of the road. If you travel over the Kennebec River bridge, you have gone 1/2 mile too far.
