Scarborough Downs, now in its 60th year …is on 500 acres in the southern Maine town of Scarborough. Home of “New Englands Fastest Half Mile Track” it draws thousands each year during racing season, from all over the world. In addition to its 2010 live harness racing schedule, Scarborough Downs offers simulcasting of both thoroughbred and harness races from premier tracks from across the US and Canada — 363 days a year, noon to midnight.
Close to the beaches and only 7 miles from downtown Portland, Maine’s largest city, Scarborough Downs is one of the top entertainment destinations in the state — Voted the area’s top Recreation Destination four years in a row! Scarborough Downs is a great place to watch The Kentucky Derby and all the Triple Crown races! Check out special events such as the Family Fun Day to The Maine Breeders Stakes races! This year, Scarborough Downs will be hosting the 2-year-old Stakes Finals in September and the 3-year-old Stakes Finals in October. Conveniently located off Exit 42 of the Maine Turnpike, north or south. Payne Road Entrance: Turn left after the toll plaza and the track entrance is on the right at the next traffic light. Via US Route 1: Just head south from the Oak Hill intersection for about 1 mile and Scarborough Downs is on the Right at the 3rd light. From Portland: Take 295 South to Exit 3/Scarborough. Follow access road to Route 1 South. Pass through 7 traffic lights. Scarborough Downs is on the right at the 8th light.

How To Wager at Scarborough Downs
The Downs Club
The Downs Club at Scarborough Downs is the crown jewel of the racetrack. The 300-seat facility offers a casual yet elegant place to watch the races in style, with a unique six-tier design that offers diners a panoramic view of all the live harness racing out on the race track. Each table is equipped with a color television monitor for a close-up view of the excitement out on the track or for viewing the over 30 tracks we offer daily via simulcast.
To add to the excitement, betting windows are located right in the restaurant, where friendly ticket sellers will gladly answer questions about wagering and racing.
The Downs Club will be open for delicious buffet dining on select days during the 2010 season, with availability in July and August for watching the races, bar service, wagering and concessions menu available. Please be sure to inquire/reserve your table by calling 207-883-3022.
